The spectroscopy facility at ORB Incubator provides high resolution, state-of-the-art light and electron microscopy technologies for imaging and analysing the molecular and structural organisation of cells, tissue bioengineered materials and other materials. The spectroscopy core facility will provide strong technical support for multi-disciplinary research and industries. The facility sites are open to all members of the ORB community as well as to external academic and industry researchers. We will also provide services, teaching and training for university research communities.
The Cell Culture Facility at ORB provides reagents, equipment, technical expertise, consultation and training to support mammalian and insect cell culture efforts. The facility covers wide range of services including basic cell culture support, cell propagation, generation of culture supernatants, hybridoma production to generate monoclonal antibodies, development of gene-manipulated mouse embryonic stem cells, establishment of primary cultures from human and animal tissue samples, cell transformation, cell banking and screening for detection of mycoplasma contamination in cultured cells, consulting to assist in experimental design and use of sterile workstations for investigators without their own facilities.

Pharma Testing Facility
ORB Incubator's Pharmaceutical Facility provides independent, contract analytical services to the ORB's network and global pharmaceutical and related industries. The facility provides Quality Control Testing, Method Development, Validation, Stability Storage and Testing of pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products. At this facility we build partnerships with our customers, who not only recognise our expertise in analytical chemistry and standards of service but also value our integrity and impartiality. MHRA and FDA approval ensure that the service is at the very highest level for cGMP analysis.

Patch Clamping Facility
The patch clamp facility at ORB Incubator is equipped with state of the art patch-clamp technology. Our setups are equipped with systems for rapid drug application. The facility allows whole-cell recordings or single-channel analysis in various expression systems that can be conducted to test the effects of drugs on voltage-gated or ligand-gated ion channels. Although full human plasma or other relevant proteins application schemes and assay conditions can be adapted for needs inside this facility.

The Electronics Facility provides design and characterisation services on the ORB Incubator site. Capabilities include analog, digital, and RF design as well as signal processing and software development. In addition, the facility provides circuit simulation, mathematical modelling, and mechanical design in support of prototype production and construction of circuits and instrumentation.

The MSSL ISO class 5 cleanroom facility at ORB is based upon the horizontal laminar flow design, with one complete end wall being a bank of HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Air) filters. Typical activities taking place within the cleanroom facility are: Assembly, test and integration of space flight hardware components, instruments and structures and optical components and structures.
